On 8th November, Indian Prime minister announced the Ban on high denomination currency notes of 1000 and 500 from the midnight. The ban has been intended to unearth the unaccounted money. The people who hold the currency in this denomination required depositing on or before 30th of December in the banks.
Demonetization means Reserve Bank of India withdrawing the old 500 and 1000 notes as the official mode of payment.
There is a big political and social debate on the issue. The people from all walks of life are appreciating the move, still there should be a clarity "Why and How" of the Demonetization.
We have launched the special issue to publish the views of the people on this important issue.
